Tet’s Turn

In a previous hand it was Jojo Tech who put the pressure on an opponent by shoving post-flop. This time, Tech, who raised preflop, faced a similar situation when Tetsuya Tsuchikawa shoved his final 200,00 or so.

Tech tanked but eventually got away from the hand showing the ace-ten to his opponent. Tetsuya showed it was a good fold by showing ace-jack.


Conelly Stayin’ Alive, Doubles Up Off Sia

Bede Connelly shoved his final 87,000 with J Q and the guy beside him Eric Sia, who has one of the biggest stacks so far, made the speculative call with 10 7

Flop was 5 8 9 to give Sia a lot of additional outs!

No spade, six or jack on the turn Q and river A however and Connelly survives. He now has over 175,000 in chips.


Mariakis Can’t Take Tech Heat

Level: 23 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

From early position, Michael Mariakis opened to 32,000 preflop and found a caller in Jojo Tech in the blinds.

Flop: 3 8 9

Tech bet 32,000, Mariakis fired back with a raise to 70,000 but Tech wanted more and shoved his stack (+135,000 more). Mariakis snap folded to give Tech the nice pot.


No Stopping This Tran

Level: 23 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Michael Mariakis opened to 35,000 preflop and was called by Linh Tran from the small blind.

Flop: J 5 6

Both checked to bring the turn 8 and this time Tran fired 33,000– enough for Mariakis to throw away his hand. This is about the third consecutive time that Tran is in the hand and winning pots. Estimate chip count is at 350,000 or so.


Yun takes some from Pham

Level: 23 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Hyunshik Yun began the hand by raising it to 32K and Pham on the big blind called. At the flop of 2 3 2, Pham and Yun checked. At the turn of K, Pham checked, Yun bet 38K, and Pham called. On the river of 10, Pham checked once more, Yun bet 63K, and Pham called after tanking for some time. Yun won the hand with K Q top pair.


Sia ends Wunschel’s run at 14th place (PHP174,000)

After a reraise all in preflop, Dave Wunschel was all in with A K, and Eric Sia called while initial raiser, Bede Connelly, folded. Sia held 8 8. The board ran low, 3 7 3 2 2 and with that, Wunschel was eliminated in 14th place. He collects PHP174,000 for his run at the felt.


Tsuchikawa rails Simba in 15th (PHP174,000)

Sim Jae Kyung aka Simba ended his day at the hands of Tetsuya Tsuchikawa when he shoved all his chips and was way behind with Pocket Threes against Tsuchikawa’s Pocket Tens. The board improved Tsuchikawa’s hand further by giving him a full house and with that Simba bowed out in 15th place. He collects PHP174,000 for his finish.


Jerwin Pasco Runs Into Set of Kings, Busts Out (16th Place – PHP 142,000)

Level: 23 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Jerwin Pasco (Philippines) raised preflop to 32,000 and found a caller in Chow Mun Fei (Malaysia). All others got out of the way and the dealer flopped 9 5 K.

Both players checked to bring the turn 7.

This time, Pasco announced all-in with a huge 282,000 shove. Fei thought for a bit but called.

Pasco had the top pair with king-queen but was shown the bad news as Fei tabled the pocket kings for the set!

Dominated the river 10 was inconsequential and we’re down to 15 players. Fei climbs to over a million in chips!


Tshuchikawa Doubles Up Before Break

Level: 22 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Tetsuya Tsuchikawa shoved with A 10 and found caller in the big blind Keith Seah who had A 9

Tsuchikawa just needed to avoid a nine here and he did when the board ran out K 6 A 4 2. Tsuchikawa doubles up to around 190,000.
