With action folding all the way to the blinds, Flo Campomanes on the small blind limped in and David Keyes on the big blind checked. The board ran A♦ 4♥ 6♦ with Campomanes betting out 550. Keyes got aggressive and pumped it up to 3,000 which initiated a fold in Campomanes. Keyes showed his 8♥ 3♣.
Action Johnson! On a board of A♠ K♣ 10♠, Johnson Tan bet 2,000 only to get raised to 4,500 by a player in mid position. The button called but Tan stayed tough and moved all in sending the mp player into the think tank. After time was called, he called and so did the button player. Both callers were covered by Tan. At the showdown, Tan had Q♣ J♦ for a straight, the mp player had K♠ K♥ for a set, and button had A♣ Q♠ for top pair. With the turn of 6♦ and river of 9♣, they failed to improve and Tan was shipped a massive pile of chips. Tan climbs to over 90,000 chips.
Jae Chul Chang limped in a pot then called a raise to 1,100 by Kwan Kit Kwok. At the flop of 7♠ 2♦ 6♣, Chang checked to Kwok who continued with a 1,500 bet. Chang called. At the turn of A♣, they both checked and watched the dealer felt a 5♣ on the board. Chang checked to Kwok who laid out a 2,000 bet. Chang called. Kwok revealed his J♠ J♦ and Chang mucked.
Kings are quite popular tonight. Shortly after one pocket kings won, another showed up this time at the hands of Brian McAllister. Action started with Tony Chang raising to 1,000 and finding two callers willing to join him but when it reached McAllister, he shoved with 25,000+ chips. Much too much, everyone folded. McAllister showed his K♥ K♠.
Peter Kleudgen won a hand against Lester Edoc that began with Kleudgen raising to 1,200 pre flop and getting called by Edoc. At the flop of 5♠ K♣ 6♦, they both checked to see a free turn of 4♦. Kleudgen began the betting stage by sending 2,100 in the middle which quickly got a fold from Edoc. Kleudgen shared his K♦ K♥. Nice hand.
With one more entry than yesterday, Day 1b turned up 74 entries by the close of registration. Some of those still seen at the felt are Kwan Kit Kwok, Lester Edoc, Sam Razavi, Mike Takayama, Ben Abrahams, to name a few.
Julian Hasse needed to double up and decided it was time when he looked down at K♥ 8♥. He was called by Flavio Ulmann and it was a showdown with Ulmann holding A♥ Q♥. With the board running 9♣ A♣ 9♥ 5♠ 2♦, Ulmann scooped the pot and Hasse was sent tot the rail.
David Keyes entered a pot against Sam Razavi which began with Razavi raising to 700 pre flop and getting a call in Keyes. At the flop of 7♦ 2♠ 4♥, Razavi bet 900 and Keyes called. At the turn of 9♥, they both checked to see a free river card land 3♠. Razavi checked to Keyes who checked by showing his cards, A♣ 2♣. Razavi mucked.
On a board showing A♠ 5♣ 3♠ and a pot of around 5,000 in the middle, Johnson Tan bet 1,200. Acting immediately after was Eric Sia who raised to 7,000. Giovani Regidor called and Tan folded. At the turn of 6♥, Sia shoved which covered Regidor who tanked for a bit then folded. Sia scooped the pot.
