Gyeong Byeong Lee falls in 14th place – USD 4,030

Gyeong Byeong Lee will not be taking home a second title as he has just been eliminated by Hanna Khalife. Lee entered the day with a monstrous stack but after multiple losses, he lost the lead and never recovered. His final hand was K 10 and Khalife with J J. The board ran 2 Q 3 J 5 for a set to Khalife. Lee earned USD 4,030 for his deep finish.


William Ysmael wins two hefty pots, reaches 540k

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

William Ysmael claimed two sizable pots to boost his stack to 540k. On the first pot he called Ian Lee’s 27k raise. Mike Takayama also joined in for a three-way pot. At the flop 2 Q 9, Lee bet 47k and only Ysmael called. On the 2 turn, Lee checked, Ysmael took a stab with a 78k bet, and won it with Lee folding up.

The next winning hand Gyeong Byeong Lee raised to 24k and got two callers, Ysmael and Hanna Khalife. On the flop 7 7 5, Khalife checked, Lee bet 20k, Ysmael called, and Khalife folded.

On the turn 5, Lee checked, Ysmael bet 55k, and Lee folded.


I Wei Jake Chen out in 15th – USD 4,030

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

I Wei Jake Chen departed unhappy after his A K was defeated by Daiki Kohagi’s A Q on a running board of 3 2 J Q A. Chen earned USD 4,030 for his deep finish.


Hideaki Ohashi exits in 16th place – USD 3,550

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Hideaki Ohashi was the next player eliminated. He was all in with K-J and Hanna Khalife had him covered with A-7. The board ran 7-7-2-K-3. Ohashi earned USD 3,550 for his deep finish.


Hanna Khalife shaves some from Mike Takayama

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

In a battle of the blinds situation, Mike Takayama limped in and Hanna Khalife checked on his bb. At the flop K A 2, Takayama led for 18k and Khalife called. On the turn 10, both checked. Then on the J river, Takayama bet 80k, Khalife raised to 160k, Takayama called. Khalife shipped it with his Q 7 flush. He now has 400k. Takayama at 595k.


Eugene Co vs SJ Kim

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Eugene Co and SJ Kim got involved in a big pot that turned up big hands in the end. Action started with a 25k bet and Co called on the big blind. The flop came 6 8 Q, Co checked, Kim slid out 28k, Co called. On fourth street 10, Co switched up and jumped out with a 42k bet, Kim called. On the K river Co checked, Kim bet 60k, Co called.

Hanayama Takeo takes 17th – USD 3,550

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Next one to fall was Hanayama Takeo who started the day as one of the short stacks. He was able to survive with an early double up and finished to finish in 17th place. Takeo’s final hand was K 5 and was up against Ian Lee with K 3. The board ran 4 3 6 4 7 for a winning flush to Lee. Takeo earned USD 3,550 for his finish.


Jin Yong out 18th – USD 3,550

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

Jin Yong was the first player to get paid in the Main Event and the way he went down was the reverse of how he rose in Day 2. Yong was all in with Q Q and Ian Yen Lee called with A K. The board ran K K 2 for trips to Lee but with a turn Q, Yong improved to a full house. However his boat was immediately dusted when the K showed on the river for quad kings to Lee. Yong earned USD 3,550 for his deep finish.


Mike Takayama vs Jae Hyun Lim

Level: 19 Blinds: 6000-12000 Ante: 2000

The top two chep leaders are at the same table, Jae Hyun Lim and Mike Takayama. Both players were bound to tango and they did so in this hand. Lim raised to 30k from mid position and Takayama called from the cutoff seat. At the flop K 10 7, both checked. On the K turn, Takayama bet 34k and Lim check-called. On the river 6, action was the same with Lim check-calling 56k. Takayama won with his Q Q. He now has 755k. Lim still leads with 900k.
