After doubling up Sung Ho Kim, Ian Yen Lee was crippled down and tossed it all in. He was called by both William Ysmael and Mike Takayama. The board spread to 3 J 3 3 6, Takayama had K-8 and eliminated Lee who held Q-8. Ysmael mucked. Lee earned USD 4,720 for his deep finish.


Sung Ho Kim doubled up by Ian Lee

Sung Ho Kim is the shortest stack at his table but got a boost in artillery after Ian Lee paid a double up. The hand kicked off with Kim raising to 36k and Lee calling from the big blind. On the flop 4 10 4, Lee bet 30k, Kim moved all in, and Lee called.

The turn 8 and river 10 showed two pair on the board and with Kim’s higher kicker, he doubled up to 540k.


SJ Kim soars past 1M

Soo Jo Kim picked up another big pot to send his stack into the seven-digit mark. The hand that sent him there began with him raising it up to 34k and finding two callers to join him to the flop of Q 9 10. All three checked. On the 4 turn, Sun Tan bet 50k, Michel Ghanem and Kim called. On the 6 river, Kim bet 87k and only Tan matched it up.

Kim climbed to 1M in chips and is the current leader.


Sun Tan takes on SJ Kim

We haven’t reported much from Sun Tan who has a decent stack before him. He lost some of it though to Soo Jo Kim. After a preflop raise war that led to a massive pot brewed in the center of the felt, the flop came 10 9 K. Tan bet 74k, and Kim check-called. On the 2? turn, both checked and got free river card 3. No bets came and Kim won with Q Q. Tan mucked.


Hanna Khalife climbs to 960k

Hanna Khalife has taken the chip lead after his big scoop against Mike Takayama. In another battle of the blinds situation between them, Takayama raised to 40k and Khalife called. On the flop A 4 3, Takayama continued and bet 35k then faced a 100k raise from Khalife. Takayama called. On the 5 turn, they checked, but on the river it was back to betting with Khalife sliding out 100k and Takayama check-calling.

Khalife won with 4 4 set and climbed to 960k.


Tetsuya Tsuchikawa out in 13th place – USD 4,030

Tetsuya Tsuchikawa saw his last hand of the Main Event. He was eliminated by Eugene Co in 13th place. Tsuchikawa had A-K and Co had 4-4. The board drew blanks and Co’s pair held. Tsuchikawa earned USD 4,030 for his deep finish.


SJ Kim vs Zentaro Nakayashiki

Level: 20 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

On a raised pot preflop, the board ran 7 2 K. Zentaro Nakayashiki checked to Soo Jo Kim who laid out a 45k bet. Sun Tan folded while Nakayashiki raised to 100k. Kim flat-called.

On the J turn, no bets came and the river landed 9. Nakayashiki jumped out with a 100k bet and after tanking, Kim called. Nakayashiki Q Q while Kim had better K Q. Kim climbed to 500k, Nakayashiki down to 180k.
