Anton Del Rosario loses the draw again; Taro Kimura doubles up

Earlier Anton Del Rosario was outdrawn by Lim Shyh Chyn and paid him a double up. Del Rosario managed to pick up some of those lost chips along the way but once again, got hit by another short stack, Taro Kimura. It was all in preflop.

The board spread out 8 3 7 10 2 for a nut flush to Kimura and a double up to 45k. Del Rosario dropped to 140k.


Iori Yogo and Tetsuya Tsuchikwa eliminated

The top two players leading the APT Game of Champions tally has just been eliminated from the Main Event. Although we missed the action on Yogo, we did see Marcel McGray shipping in the chips as Yogo walked out of the tournament area.

As for Tsuchikawa, after getting chunked by William Ysmael on a previous hand, he was all in against Jin Bo.

The board ran two kings on the flop and that was it. Tsuchikawa couldn’t catch up despite a hopeful flush draw on the turn and Bo sent him packing.


William Ysmael tanks Tetsuya Tsuchikawa

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

The current race leader of the APT Player of the Year 2017, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa was put in the heater by William Ysmael. Unfortunately we missed the action and only jumped in on the river betting. With a board showing A 3 5 8 10, Tsuchikawa slid out a 35k bet which was close to a pot bet. Ysmael raised enough to cover the rest of Tsuchikawa’s stack sending Tsuchikawa deep into the tank. Tsuchikawa asked told Ysmael he could beat A-8 but ultimately he opted to fold leaving himsel 32k behind.

Ysmael scooped the pot and now has 154k.


Ken Shibazaki vs Yohei Miura

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Two Japanese players vied for a big pot brewed in the middle. Catching the action on a complete board of 2 3 7 5 K and a pot of 26k, Shibazaki took a stab with a 7k bet but was challenged by Miura with a raise to 25k. Shibazaki folded.


Yukiko Ogasawara sends Mark Sy and Tomoyasu Aria to the rail

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Yukiko Ogasawara chopped two heads simultaneously eliminating Tomoyasu Arai and Mark Sy. The three-way began with Ogasawara raising to 3500, Arai shoved his short stack, Sy followed after, and Ogasawara with her big stack quickly called.

The board ran dry for those at risk Q 5 3 9 5 and just like that boom-boom two down. Ogasawara zooms to 270k.


Anton Del Rosario seesaws , Lim Shyh Chyn doubles up

Day 1B chip leader Anton Del Rosario has been picking up a few pots at his table including a decent one against Bruno Hangano to bring his stack close to 200k. On a raised pot preflop, the board was Q 4 7, Hangano checked then called Del Rosario’s 5k bet. On the 7 turn, action was the same with Hangano check-calling a 10.5k bet. However, on the 2 river, Hangano couldn’t call the 22k bet.

The next hand, Del Rosario was up against Lim Shyh Chyn with a raised pot to around 11k preflop. The flop showed 6 7 9 and one thing led to another, it was a showdown.

The turn K was no help to Chyn but with the river 5, he was granted the straight and doubled up to 100k. Del Rosario went down to around 143k.


Big pot for James Lee, eliminates Fernando Arevalo

Level: 10 Blinds: 800-1600 Ante: 200

Fernando Arevalo was all in with J J and Joon Won Lee was there with A Q overcards. With the flop landing a lady on the flop, that was it for Arevalo who couldn’t improve on the turn and river. Lee picked up the sizable pot and soared to around 270k.


Cheong Tak Kheong avoids the rail

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

With his very short stack, Cheong Tak Kheong was all in with K K and Takao Shimizu was there to make him sweat with A Q. With the board running 6 8 J 10, Shimizu picked up a nut flush draw. The river landed 4 and Kheong was safe for a double up to 65k.


Andre Moracchini doubles up through Neil Raine

Level: 9 Blinds: 600-1200 Ante: 200

Neil Raine and Andre Moracchini went at it again and this time, the winning pot went the other way. Action kicked off with Raine bumping it up to 3k. To his immediate left was Moracchini who three-bet to 7500. Raine pushed and Moracchini snap-called for his tournament life.

With the board running K 3 J A J, Moracchini survived and doubled up to around 124k. Raine dropped to 345k. Raine is still the overwhelming chip leader.
