Chip leader Yuwen Pan is trying his best to burst the bubble but instead, he once again paid a double up. The happy receiver was APT decorated champion Harry Duong. On a turn board 9♠ 4♠ A♠ 7♣ and 113.5k in the pot, Duong was all in with K♠ Q♠ nut flush, Pan was drawing dead with K♣ 8♠. The river was 8♦. Duong up to 370k.
On a flop A♠ 10♥ 3♦ and 27k in the pot, bb Sim Jae Kyung went all in with his remaining 7.5k stack, Antoine Follet called. Simba had A♥ 10♠ top two pair, Follet 2♣ 2♠. The turn 3♣ and river 6♠ secured the double up for Simba.
With 38 remaining, we are hand-for-hand bubble round. At table 2, sb Yuwen Pan shoved 10♠ 8♦ and bb Kim Donkyu risked it all with Q♣ Q♠. The board was 3♣ Q♦ J♦ K♣ 5♠ for a double up to Kim.
Another all in at table 2. Tran Cao Tam behind with A♠ Q♣ to Xiao Yucheng’s A♦ A♥. The flop granted Tran a queen but no more to fall out of the running.
After losing on an earlier hand, Ng Ka Shing attempted to recover instead met his end at the hands of Hwang Sang Yeong. Shing all in with A♣ 10♠ couldn’t get past Hwang’s Q♣ Q♥.
In two killer back-to-back hands, Dhaval Mudgal and David Erquiaga were booted out of the Main Event. Their executioner was Yuwen Pan who now sits with a monster 875k.
First victim was Mudgal who just doubled up through Erquiaga on a lucky catch. With 275k behind, he faced off with Pan. From utg+1 Mudgal opened to 11k, Pan defended on the big blind. At the flop K♥ 10♣ 9♥, Pan checked, Mudgal c-bet 15k, Pan raised to 100k, Mudgal shoved with K♦ K♠ set, Pan called with J♥ 6♥ draw. The Q♣ awarded Pan the straight, and with the river 7♦, Mudgal couldn’t catch up.
Next hand, Pan raised to 14k from cutoff, sb Erquiaga shoved, Pan called. Erquiaga showed J♥ J♦ and upon seeing Pan’s 2♦ 2♣, he said “don’t do it”. However, the board favored Pan again at it ran 2♥ 6♥ 8♣ Q♣ Q♥ full house to Pan. Pan is now the overwhelming chip leader with 41 remaining.
Dhaval Mudgal nearly met the rail here. We caught the action with the cards tabled and the board already laid out. Mudgal had Q♦ Q♣, David Erquiaga with K♣ K♥, the spread J♣ Q♥ 3♦ 5♠ 5♣ for a lucky full house to Mudgal. He shipped a double up to 270k.
Prior to this hand, Erquiaga lost chips to Xiao Yucheng when he gave up his stake on a board 8♠ A♠ J♣ with 37.5k already in the pot. Xiao checked, Erquiaga bet 20k, Xiao raised to 60k, Erquiaga folded. This loss and the double up sent Erquiaga down to 80k.
One of the day’s top 5, Tuan, just banked a nice pile to bring him up to 450k. Falling was Kenichi Takarabe who shoved with A♣ 9♣ from cutoff, called by Tuan on the small blind with K♣ K♦. No help arrived on the board. We are down to 44 players.
