Cao Ngoc Anh slips down to 80k, Trinh Dung over 110k

Van Ngoc Binh at 470k

Van Ngoc Binh has been bordering in and out of the chip leader’s berth. Though still behind Mai Te who has over 500k, Binh’s 470k stack is not too far behind. His recent win saw him raise to 5500, called by three players until it reached Yu Dang who three-bet to 17.4k. Back to Binh, he four-bet to 85.5k, everyone folded, including Yu Dang.


Dao Ngoc Nam gets full pay with aces

Dao Ngoc Nam looked down at A A and opened the betting with a 5200 raise. Kim Hak Do three-bet to 17.2k, Nam called. On the flop 2 8 5, Nam checked, Kim all in, snap-called by Nam. Kim had A K. The turn J and river J didn’t find Kim and he paid the double up.


Meherzad Munsaf rails with a kingly heart

The table in front of the media section went an a rise with three players all in. One had 5 5, one with Q J, and Meherzad Munsaf with K K. The board came down 6 A A 10 3. Munsaf won it with the nut flush while sending one player to the rail.


Lim Yohwan vs Lim Koon Ting Daniel

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 2000

LIm Yohwan back on the grind here. He’s been spiking up and down throughout the day but still enough to hold on. He earned himself a pot against Lim Koon Ting Daniel though not without its challenges. On a board showing 2 6 8 2 and a 20k pot already brewed, Daniel bet 12k and was called. On the river Q, Daniel sent out another 29k to send Yohwan tanking. He eventually called with A K nut flush and won the pot to climb to 190k. Daniel held 2 3 set.


Quang Nguyen eliminated

After his aces were cracked, Quang Nguyen found himself staring down K K. He opened with a 4500 raise, Cyrille Rousset holding A K three-bet to 8500, Van Ngoc Binh called, Quang shoved with 38.7k, Rousset also shoved with his 128k, and Binh got out of the way. The board ran 2 Q 4 9 A for a higher pair spiked on the river to deny Quang’s kings and send him packing.


Jeonggyu Cho denies Quang Nguyen’s rockets

Another strong player took a beating to his stack. This time it was Quang Nguyen, runner-up of the previous APT Vietnam Main Event. Betting began with utg Quang raising to 4500, Van Ngoc Binh and Jeonggyu Cho called. On the flop K 4 2, Binh bet 11k, Cho called, Quang raised to 41k, Binh folded, and Cho moved all in for 110k total. Quang called.

The turn Q and river 8 did not improve Quang and he dropped to 40k. Cho rose to 250k.


Xiaoyin He cripples Iori Yogo

Level: 14 Blinds: 1000-2000 Ante: 2000

Xiaoyin He raised from late position and Iori Yogo defended his big blind. At the flop 8 6 2, after an intense stare down, both players found themselves all in. Xiaoyin with top pair Q 8 and Yogo with 4 5 draw. The next two cards were no help to Yogo to send his stack to 8k. He busted on the next hand. Xiaoyin doubled up to 190k.


Ian Modder doubles up through Zheng

Ian Modder survived the race against one of the chip leaders, Zheng Xiaosheng. With a 5k raise that was called before him, he shoved with 45.3k. Iniital raiser folded and Zheng called. Modder A J, Zheng 8 8. The board ran 9 Q A 7 5. Zheng dropped to 420k, Modder around 110k.
