Alex Lee struggled with a short stack for some time and managed to ladder up to the final table of 10 players. After the fall of Vu Duc Trung in 10th place, Lee moved all in and got called by two players. Since they all had an ace and the board felted two pair, it was a three-way split.
Not long after, Lee went all in again =, Daiki Horikawa joined as well with his stack, then the massive stacked Abhinav Iyer joined to make it a three-way party.
Lee 5♥ 5♣
Horikawa 9♣ 9♠
Iyer A♠ K♦
The board ran 8♣ 2♣ 7♠ 7♣ A♣ for a higher flush to Daiki over Lee. Daiki doubled up and more while Lee fell in 9th place. He earned VND 236,368,000.
Action folded to the button Ming Yang Liu, he raised to 160k. Small blind Vu Duc Trung shoved his 535k stack, Ming tanked then found the guts to call.
Ming K♥ 9♥
Trung A♦ 4♥
The board ran 4♠ 10♠ 7♦ Q♣ K♠ eliminating Trung in 10th place.
The only APT decorated champion has fallen! Huu Dung NGuyen had a great run all day but after costly hits to his stack, he was all in with 10♦ 10♥ called by the leader Abhinav Iyer with J♠ J♥. The board ran very dry to end his bid in 11th place. He earned VND 164,145,000.
We have now reached the unofficial final table with 10 players remaining. Two bust outs to go then we wrap up.
After several uncalled shoves and a small pot won against Daiki Hirokwas, Huu Dung Nguyen built his stack back up to over 1M. He was looking to reach average stack but Kim Hak Do landed a lucky river to send him back to 650k.
The hand saw Kim shove with 360k and Huu snap called. Kim K♠ J♠, Huu Q♦ Q♠, the board ran 6♣ 3♥ 5♠ 4♣ K♥ for a higher pair spiked on the river by Kim. He doubled up to 840k.
Huu Dung Nguyen raised to 100k, button Abhinav Iyer three-bet to 280k, Huu called. On the flop K♣ J♠ 5♦ and A♥ both checked. On the river 4♦, Huu fired 280k and Iyer called. Huu mucked while saying “good call”. Iyer up to 3.8m, Huu down to 650k.
Button player Alex Lee raised to 100k and big blind Mai Te defended. At the flop 7♥ A♣ 10♣, Te checked, Lee c-bet 130k, Te called. On the A♠ turn, check again by Te, Lee fired 180k, Te called. On the 2♣ river, no bets arrived and Te won with 10♥ Q♣ two pair. Lee mucked.
Huu Tuan Nguyen has been fairly quiet, not winning big ones unlike when the field was much bigger. However he just claimed a couple of pots and his stack is now at average of 1.4m.
The first pot saw cutoff Sim Kok Wai raised to 90k, sb Mark Gruendemann called, bb Tuan shoved his 825k stack. This sent Wai tanking for some time that led to a fold. Gruendemann folded as well. Tuan said “It’s the first time I went all in.”
Three hands after, utg Alex Lee raised to 100k and bb Tuan defended. At the flop 9♠ Q♣ 3♦, Tuan check-called a 115k bet by Lee. On the J♦ turn, same action with Tuan check-calling a 180k bet. Then on the river 5♣, Tuan checked and this time Lee checked back. Tuan grimaced as he opened K♣ 10♠ nuts straight. He was probably thinking he should have value bet the river.
Sim Kok Wai picked up two pots that sent LIn Yusheng crashing in 12th place. Wai’s first hand was against Huu Tuan Nguyen hwho raised to 75k then called Wai’s three-be to 215k. On the flop J♠ 8♦ 9♥ Wai shoved his 665k and won it with Tuan folding.
The next hand Yusheng shoved his 285k and bb Wai called. Yusheng with A♠ J♥, Wai 9♦ 9♠, the board ran a clean Q♣ 6♦ 2♥ Q♦ 4♦. We are down to 11 players.
