Punya “madhumangal” Prabha wins the Championship Event!

After 10.5+ hours of play, the Championship Event has been captured. The newest champion is Punya “madhumangal” Prabha who defeated Karan “Apocalypto” Radia at heads up. Prabha wins the APT Trophy, APT Championship Ring, and IN₹ 10.45L for his part of the ICM deal. Prabha was clearly on fire today having first won the afternoon’s PLO-5 event.We will have winner’s story shortly. Congratulations to the champ!! 

The featured event drew 157 players plus 128 re-entries for 285 total entries. With buy in at IN₹ 22,000 each, it surpassed the 50L guarantee for a larger IN₹ 57L prize pool. 36 players earned a portion. Check out our live updates for a read on some of the action.


Karan “Apocalypto” Radia eliminated in 2nd place – IN₹ 10.98L

The final hand of the Championship Event has been dealt. With his stack on a southward trend, Karan “Apocalypto” Radia was all in with A 8, chip leader Punya “madhumangal” Prabha called with 7 7, the board came 6 4 10 3 4. Radia was eliminated in 2nd place but due to a heads up deal, he still earned the larger payout of IN₹ 10.98L.

It’s been a while since Punya “madhumangal” Prabha was on the other side of the count during a showdown. On a turn board 10 4 K J, Karan “Apocalypto” Radia shoved J A second pair, Prabha called with 9 K top pair, the river 7 secured the double up. After a scheduled five minute break, Prabha returned and quickly stole the lead with uncalled bets.

After a few minutes of heads up play, Karan “Apocalypto” Radia has taken the lead with A 6 on a board Q 9 A K 5. Punya “madhumangal” Prabha’s hand was mucked.

Immediately following that pot, Radia asked to check the numbers, Prabha agreed, then a deal was struck. The players now battle it out for the title, APT Trophy, and APT Championship Ring.

Heads up is underway with Punya“madhumangal” Prabha ahead 48.14L versus Karan “Apocalypto” Radia 35.96L. Prabha offered to check the numbers but Radia declined, instead wanted to pla for the title.


Gautam “M8a7” Rohilla exits in 3rd place for IN₹ 5.68L

Gautam “M8a7” Rohilla’s stack dwindled down to 8 bb and sent it all in with Q 10 to back him up. His hunt for a double up was denied by Karan “Apocalypto” Radia’s 10 10 when the board ran K 7 J K K. Rohilla exited in 3rd place for IN₹ 5.68L.


Two double ups for Karan “Apocalypto” Radia

Level: 46 Blinds: 36K-72K Ante: 9000

It is down to the final three players with Punya “madhumangal” Prabha ahead in the count. The shortest stacked Karan “Apocalypto” Radia landed two double ups and more to trim the gap against the leader. The first boost was through Prabha with 7 A trips over Q 10 on a board 8 A Q 5 A. The next winning shove was against Gautam “M8a7” Rohilla with Q Q dominating 10 10.


Haider “Haider” Madraswala swings out in 4th place for IN₹ 4.21L

Level: 45 Blinds: 32K/64K Ante: 8000

Having just lost a big pot to the chip leader, Haider “Haider” Madraswala went on a shoving spree that sent his stack swinging and eventually out in 4th place. The first all in was against Gautam “M8a7” Rohilla with A K losing to 10 10 set on a board 2 3 5 10 6.

Down to bits, Madraswala was all in with K 10 and got very lucky against Karan “Apocalypto” Radia K K when the board ran J J A 10 Q for a straight. However, on his third showdown, Madraswala’s K 8 fell to Rohilla’s 7 7. Madraswala placed 4th for IN₹ 4.21L.


Big stacked Punya “madhumangal” Prabha pressures the table

After railing Kartik Ved and Karan Radia, chip leader Punya “madhumangal” Prabha proceeded to put pressure on the remaining three opponents with raises and shoves. In one hand, Haider “Haider” Madraswala tanked on the river shove and gave up a big pot. Prabha’s stack now dwarfs every player remaining.
