Edoc mucks to Paredes

Yohn Paredes has claimed a sizable pot against Lester Edoc. Edoc raised to 17k preflop and Paredes called from the small blind seat. The dealer felted 10 J Q, Paredes checked to Edoc who bet 13k, and Paredes flat-called. The turn of 8 had Paredes check-calling again, this time to a bet of 18k from Edoc. Then on the river of 6, Paredes checked, Edoc checked as well, and Paredes won with his A J when Edoc mucked his hand.


John Kim bets for the win

John Kim has scooped himself another pot in this first round of the Final 8. Action began with Alex Ward raising to 18k and both Kim and Yohn Paredes called. The board ran J 8 9, and Paredes and Ward checked to Kim who bet 26k. He won without a challenge.


Falcon pushes out Ji Young Kim

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Having a massive stack surely helps one win with shoves sometimes. In this hand, JC Sayo raised to 18k preflop and was called by big stacked Michael Falcon but Ji Young Kim three-bet to 72k. Sayo asked for a count then chose to fold but Falcon quickly called. At the flop of 10 9 6, Kim took the reins and bet 35k but only to be faced with an all in dilemma with Falcon shoving his massive stack. Kim tanked but then gave it up.


Paredes wins a pot vs Ji Young Kim

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

Short stacked Yohn Paredes just beefed up his stack a bit. He raised to 25k and was called by Ji Young Kim. At the flop of J 3 J, Kim checked to Paredes who bet 25k again. Kim folded and Paredes won the pot.

 


Sayo rebounds against Falcon

Level: 20 Blinds: 4000-8000 Ante: 1000

After having lost a pot to Lester Edoc in the previous hand, John Sayo bounced right back. He raised to 18k again and was called by Michael Kim Falcon on the big blind. At the flop of 6 9 A, Falcon bet 20k and Sayo called. The turn of 4 had action reversed with Falcon checking to Sayo who bet 30k, and Falcon called. On the river of 8, both players slowed to a check and Sayo won with his A 10 top pair against Falcon’s J 9 second pair.


Edoc takes one off Sayo

JC Sayo gets in the action and raises to 18k and finds one caller in Lester Edoc. At the flop of 10 4 K both players checked to see a free turn of 2. This time Edoc led out for 10k and Sayo gave it up.


No callers for Chung

Sheila Chung took down the next hand without a challenge. She raised to 20k and everyone opted to fold. She won the blinds and antes.


Ward earns a good pot

Action began with John Kim raising to 17k from the utg seat. He was called by two players, Lester Edoc and big blind Alex Ward. At the flop of 2 K Q, Ward checked to Kim who bet 23k which Edoc called. When action returned to Ward, he check-raised to 72k which was enough to get Kim to fold while Edoc called. On the turn of 9, both players checked. Then on the river of 4, Ward led out for 80k, Edoc thought about it, counted out chips, but folded instead.


John Kim wins first two hands of the Final 8

The chip leader John Kim has taken the first two pots of the Final 8. In the first hand, he raised to 19k preflop and was called by the second largest stack, Michael Kim Falcon. At the flop of K J Q, Kim bet 26k and took it down after Falcon folded. Kim showed his pocket jacks for a set.

Next hand, he raised to 18k and found no callers this time. He won the blinds and antes. He showed his hand again, it was another pocket jacks.
