Takayama checked to Lubas who bet 250K which Takayama smooth-called.

Takayama checked to Lubas who shoved, and in a snap, Takayama called.

At this point, Lubas was drawing dead and Takayama won the Main Event! Lubas earned P2,850,000 for his 2nd place finish while Takayama took the big kahuna prize of P3,453,000.

Takayama reclaiming some lost chips…

Having doubled up Jay Lubas, Mike Takayama went to work quick reclaiming some of his lost chips.

In one hand, Takayama raised to 250K preflop and Lubas called to see a flop land…

Both players checked to see a free turn of 2 and river of 3. Acting first, Lubas checked again, this time Takayama opted differently and bet 100K which was good enough to win the pot as Lubas folded.

Shortly after, Takayama was at it again with Lubas betting 500K on a board showing

Takayama called the bet and they went to see a river card of 3. Both players checked and Takayama won with 8 Q top pair. Lubas mucked.

 


Jay Lubas doubles up to 2.7M

Jay Lubas lost several pots against Mike Takayama by folding on some of Takayama’s raises preflop and bets at unraised pots. In a recent hand, Lubas’s patience paid off when he shoved all in on top of Takayama’s 220K raise and Takayama making the call.

With the board running dry for Takayama, Lubas doubled up to just slightly over 2.7M. Takayama is still ahead with 4.5M.
