Day 2 ended with 44 players all happy to be in the money. Leading the chip count is Tan Gay Peng with 617,000 chips followed by Reymi Sanchez with 595,000 chips. The Main Event resumes at 1pm tomorrow. Congratulations to everyone who qualified into Day 3.

Marc Rivera rails two to end Day 2

With the tables at hand for hand waiting for the bubble to burst, at Marc Rivera’s table two players with identical stacks of 15K went all in. Gavin and Rivera called and both checked down the board till the end.

Board: 9 4 9 8 2

Lester Pinto: mucked after seeing Smith and Santos’s cards

Rivera: J 2 pair

Rivera won the hand and railed both Santos and Pinto. Both railbirds will split the P65,000 45th place prize.

 


Takayama loses almost half his stack to Peng

Tan Gay Peng and Mike Takayama were facing a massive pot well over 100K and a board showing:

Board: 5 10 3 8 Q

Kicking off the action was Takayama who slid out 65K only to get raised to 140K by Peng. Takayama tanked for a bit then finally called. Peng showed his K 7 flush which was good for the takedown as Takayama mucked. Peng now at over 600K chips.


Marc Rivera hurts Lester Pinto’s stack

Lester Pinto just got chunked down when he shoved all in with 129K and was snap-called by Marc Rivera with 112K chips.

Pinto: A 10

Rivera: A A

With the board of A 2 9 K 7, Rivera swelled to over 240K chips while Pinto looked down at 16K.


Tan Tai Zheng takes some from Pangan

Level: 19 Blinds: 3000-6000 Ante: 1000

Tan Tai Zheng and Luke Pangan battled for a pot that we caught only at the turn board.

Board: 2 9 7 5

Pangan led out for 6K, got raised to 44K by Zheng, then smooth-called by Pangan. On the river of Q, Pangan bet 6K again and Zheng decided to just call. Zheng won the hand with a set 5 5 against Pangan’s A 7 mid pair.


Chew avoids the bubble

Level: 18 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

Aaron Abel Chew went all in with his 68K chips and Luke Pangan called after already putting in a 15K raise.

Pangan: 6 6

With the board running 2 8 2 K 3, Chew avoided elimination and doubled up to over 150K chips.


Roger Spets lands an exciting flush

Level: 18 Blinds: 2500-5000 Ante: 500

With players eagerly awaiting for the bubble to burst, Roger Spets moved all in for 62K and was called by Bae Kanghee.

Spets: J J

With the board running A K 9, Kanghee overtook Spets with a higher pair, then with the turn of 2, Kanghee was still in the lead, but with the river of Q, Spets doubled up with a flush and defeating Kanghee’s two pairs.
