With a raise before him, Ben Abrahams shoved and got snap-called by raiser Lee Jong Rul. Abrahams had K♣ J♦ against Rul’s A♠ K♥. The board was no help to Abrahams and he bowed out of the Main Event.
With a hefty pot of over 13K weighing down the middle of the table, Tiger Lee bet 4100 on a flop showing K♥ 8♥ 7♣. Everyone folded.
We are now at a dinner break. A total of 210 players registered for Day 1B and 143 remain.
Bernie Angeles limped in a pot with two others and saw a flop land K♣ J♠ Q♠. Everyone checked and the dealer laid the turn card of Q♣. Acting first was the sb player who checked to Gavin Smith. Smith bet 1200 but then was raised to 2500 by Angeles. The sb folded and Smith called. The river of 10♠ was then revealed and both players checked. Smith showed Q♦ 9♦ and Angeles showed A♠ 10♣. Angeles won with his straight at the flop.
Shin Hyung Kook railed a player when he shoved on a player who had less chips than him at the river. On a board showing 2♣ 10♥ 6♠ 9♠ K♥, Kook had Q♠ J♠ for a straight while his opponent had K♦ 10♣ for two pairs.
Jay Tolon along with a mid position player limped in then called a raise by Renato Villanueva Jr. of 2500. At the flop of Q♥ 7♥ 2♣, Villanueva banged out 4000 that pushed Tolon out of the pot but not the mp who called to see the turn of A♦. At this point, both players quietly checked. Then on the river of 8♣, Villanueva bet 11,100 and after tanking, his opponent called. Villanueva showed his A♣ A♠ and was shipped the chips.
Action at Alan Escano’s table began with a limp by the utg, a raise to 1000 by the mid position player, a call by Escano from the cutoff seat, then re-raised to 2800 by the button. Everyone called and four players went to see a flop of 5♣ K♥ K♦. Action checked to Escano who laid out a 3000 bet inducing a fold in two players and a call from the mp player. At the turn of 2♦, the mp player check-called Escano’s 3000 bet again. Then on the river of Q♣, mp checked again, Escano slid out 10K, and was awarded the pot after his opponent folded.
JIm Bonanno from Guam was awarded with a much needed double up, not once, but twice, back-to-back.
During the first hand, Bonanno shoved with 3700 behind and was called. Bonanno had A♦ Q♦ that won against 9♣ 9♠ on a board that ran 10♠ 2♦ J♣ 2♥ A♥.
Shortly after, Bonanno pushed all in on a board showing 3♣ 5♣ K♦ A♣ 4♣, and was called. Bonanno showed J♣ 9♣, which was a good enough flush to claim the big pile in the middle.
Bonanno is now out of the danger zone and has almost 30K in his arsenal.
