Day 1B of the APT Asian Series Goa Main Event saw 67 entries and 27 remaining players set to join Day 1A’s survivors for the race towards the final table. This brings the combined field for the tournament to 131 entries, creating a total prize pool of INR 5,895,000.
With first place set to receive INR 1,942,000, one player who stood out from the rest today was Rishabh Jhunjhunwala who finished in the chip lead on 73,500 in chips. He is joined on the leaderboard by second-placed Sameer Rattonsey who came runner-up in last year’s Main Event and will no doubt be looking to go one place better in the coming days.
However, the reigning champion of Sangeeth Mohan was one of today’s casualties, ending any possibility of a back-to-back title. He was joined on the rail by other big names in the local poker scene such as Abhishek Goindi, Jasven Saigal, Ramandeep Singh Gujral and Harshad Barve.
