Lloyd Fontillas, one of the most experienced poker tournament directors in Asia and currently TD at the Asian Poker Tour (APT) has been promoted to the position of Executive Tournament Director of APT.
Making the announcement at the opening Jeff Mann, APT’s Chief Executive Officer said:
“Lloyd has been with APT since 2010 and has been instrumental in ensuring the quality of the poker tournaments we stage; it has been his playing structures; types and number of events held as well as where and when that have contributed considerably to APT’s high standing throughout the international poker community. I am delighted that Lloyd will be taking on a much bigger role within APT and will be spearheading a number of new initiatives to ensure our further growth and expansion.”
In 2010 – when both Mann and Fontillas joined APT, the tour had only two events per year. In 2015, 9 major international poker events were staged and it is anticipated that APT will organize at least 10 events in 2016. Each APT event is a festival of poker held over 7-9 days offering between 14-19 separate poker tournaments.
