Calvin Lee ships it at the PLO High Rollers

Calvin Lee, PLO HR winner

The Pot Limit Omaha High Rollers event had a slow start but eventually turned up 11 players for a prize pool of KRW 10,670,000. Bryan Huang, Kosei Ichinose, and Jinwoo Kim were among those who attended however they all met their end before the money round of two spots.

Battling for the title and the KRW 7,469,000 first place purse were Calvin Lee and Genki Nakano. Both players kicked off the heads up round fairly even in chips. Nakano seemed to pull away early but as the blinds climbed, it was Lee who won a majority of the pots. Lee proceeded to grind down Nakano until the final hand was dealt.

On a flop of 8 Q 5, Nakano was all in with K J K 10 and Lee called with 5 5 3 10. The turn 4 and river 10 gave Lee the victory with a winning set of fives. For Nakano’s efforts, he was awarded the second prize money of KRW 3,201,000.

From bubble boy to 1st place! Andre An wins the No Limit Hold’em 1

Immediately after busting out of the Main Event Warm Up as the unfortunate bubble boy, Andrew An jumped into the No Limit Hold’em 1 event and despite the rough ride, he navigated his way to victory.

Andrew An, NLH 1 winner

30 players took to the No Limit Hold’em 1 felt each one ponying up the KRW 550,000 entry for a pot of KRW 14,550,000. Players seemed to be on turbo mode with the final table reached in just under five hours. Dominating the action was Han Tae Hoon. He amassed a towering stack which he brought into the money round with five players remaining.

Ryan Park was first to cash, falling to Han with A 9 ousted by 9 7 full house with the shoves seen on the flop of a completed board 2 9 7 6 7. Sebastien Noiret was out next; he doubled up short-stacked Andrew An then was later railed by Roman Shcherbakov.

The three-handed round lasted for quite a long time that players eventually opted to cut a three-way deal but still play for a small pot and the trophy. This quickly led to Han busting out in 3rd to Shcherbakov with Q-10 dominated by A-Q.

At heads up, An doubled up with 10 7 quads over Shcherbakov’s K-8 full house on a board 7 3 7 7 K. Shcherbakov managed to hang on and both players began exchanging pots. An eventually pulled ahead after winning a double up with 10-9 two pair, then another with K-K over K-10. The final hand saw An holding a dominating Q Q over Shcherbakov’s 7 7 that held up to claim the title. This was An’s first APT career victory.
