The second day of APT Asian Series Goa at Casino Royale set sail yesterday with the Fundoo Poker Head Hunter attracting a field of 52 players. The event featured a buy-in of INR 15,000, which included an INR 2000 bounty on every player’s head.
Anil Adiani knocked out eight players on his way to the victory despite being down to just four big blinds at one point on the final table. His mighty comeback means he collects INR 209,300 in first place prize money. The final hand came when Siddharth Singhvi pushed holding K♣ 8♦ but Adiani called with A♦ 7♦ and the board ran 5♦ 6♠ 2♣ Q♣ 9♦ to hand him the title.
Many notable poker players were spotted in the tournament such as Amit Varma, Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal, Dhaval Mudgal, Jasveen Saigal, Abhishek Goindi, Kunal Chandra, Bobbe Suri, Liam Anderson and Phil Sanders.
Reigning APT Asian Series Goa Main Event champion Sangeeth Mohan also made his second final table in a row at the tournament, finishing in an impressive third place after his runner-up cash in Monday’s Event #1 INR 10,000 Freezeout.
