For the second day in a row, Vietnamese high roller Dao Minh Phu bagged the largest stack at the Main Event as he closed out Day 2 with an overwhelming 917,000 in chips. To give you an idea of how enormous this stack is, it is equivalent to 183 BB. Like at Day 1C, Phu bulldozed through the competition, eliminating a minimum of eight players which included two double knockouts.
In addition to Phu, it was a smoking hot day for India’s Ankit Jajodia who racked up the second largest stack of 856,500 (171 BB). Jajodia opened the day ranked 11th out of the 150 qualifiers. He was seen grinding it out at Table 8 until he was moved to Table 4 where he scored two massive pots. He first called out Slade Fisher‘s bluff bet on the river then eliminated a player with his nut flush. For a brief moment, Jajodia evened up with Phu for the chip lead.
