Main Event Day 2 brief review
Day 2 opened with UK’s Dan Trett carrying in the chip lead which he held for a few levels until Filipino player Sar Iyan Marcos knocked out two players in succession. As the field trimmed, one of the day’s entering chip leaders John Tech was out of the running and was joined by other fallen comrades Henrik Tollefsen, Iori Yogo, and Feng Zhao. On the upside, Lee Chang Hwan, Ryan Jerico Platon, and Niroshan Loganathan were seen chipping up all day to keep their stacks in the upper tier. One of Loganathan’s most impressive wins was when he shoved Aden Ang Kok Sin out of a pot, getting him to fold a set to his mid pair. As for Platon and Lee, both players scalped multiple heads to maintain their big stacks. Before the close of day, Lee dragged in a big pot against David Erquiaga when he pushed on a board showing 4♥ 5♥ A♣ 2♣ 3♥. This secured him the chip lead at the end of Day 2. Another crazy pot was between John Matsuda and Nico Valenton, both players also advanced to Day 3. During the hand, the board completed 8♦ 10♦ 2♦ 4♥ 7♣, the aggressor Matsuda slowed to a check then tank folded to Valenton’s push. Valenton slapped down the 6♣ 3♦ bluff. You can read up on many of the day’s big hands via our Live Updates.
