The final table kicked off with Chu Yi Huang (seat 8) backed by a monster pile while Day 1A chip leader Ruei Jiun Liang (seat 4) was running a strong second rank. On the opposite end was Day 1B chip leader Bo Jie Zhang (seat 9) with a very short stack. Zhang couldn’t get out of the hole and busted in 9th place.
Laddering up the most was Hung Hui Chung (seat #2) who entered the final table ranked seventh in chips then carried it all the way up to 3rd place. Not so fortunate was Sin Ren Chen who entered ranked fifth but dropped three spots to settle for 8th place. For Championships Event 4th placer Chung Chie Kuan, his dreams of glory were shattered when he fell in 5th place.
Heads up was between the day’s towering chip leaders Huang and Liang. From the start, Liang was a force to reckon with, consistently bagging up a big stack. Huang, on the other, had the edge with his larger stack. Huang went on to victory. The last hand saw a board 10♦ K♠ 6♠ 8♦ 6♦, Liang had K♣ 4♣ two pair, Huang A♦ Q♦ rivered the nut flush.
That concludes the APT Taiwan 2021 series at partner venue Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club). Congratulations to the champion!
