Last hour to enter the Championships Event in Day 2; Chip counts inside; Choy Wai Tak bags overall chip lead

APT Taiwan 2019 ran Day 1B of the CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. This was the last starting day to enter the featured tournament.

65 runners came out to bring the total entries to 121. At TWD 49,500 buy-in, the TWD 6,000,000 wasn’t reached, however registration is still open for one final hour in Day 2 taking place on Friday, October 18. Players can expect the number to grow. We will have the official prize pool for you once the freezeout stage begins. For entering players, starting stack is 50,000 which gives you roughly 42 big blinds.

Championships Event – Day 1B results

Yesterday, Hong Kong’s Choy Wai Tak closed the night lifting the No Limit Hold’em Single Day trophy. He returned to the felt today and brought the same fire to Championships Event Day 1B. The heat attracted 65 entrants, 39 survived with Choy bagging the chip lead of 255,200. This was enough to seize the top dog spot entering Day 2.

Also amassing a mountain of chips was Malaysian player Lonris Yong with 232,800. Yong and Choy were the only two players in this heat to cross into the 200k marker.

Joining the leaders were several decorated APT champions: Guo Dong (102,800), Yo Hwan Lim (91,000), Iori Yogo (55,300), Joven Huerto (36,500). Also through were Main Event finalists: Ho Bao Qiang (80,600), Jinho Hong (75,200), and Wilson Lim (7,000).
