Suit up! Time for APT Taiwan 2019 at CTP Club! Doors open today

Good morning players and welcome to APT Taiwan 2019

APT Taiwan 2019 schedule

This is the Asian Poker Tour‘s second-ever visit to the Taipei City, Taiwan and we are extremely thrilled to be back. Our inaugural visit back in February set new heights for poker in the country. The tour introduced a higher buy-in  Main Event than what the country was used to. A tour record 523 entrants turned up to more than obliterate the advertised guarantee. At the end of the festival, over USD 2.1 million was paid out, the largest overall prize pool distributed by the tour this year.

Returning to partner and host venue Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association aka CTP Club from October 9 to 20, the APT is gunning for an even richer festival. We have prepared a more ambitious schedule. 24 events are lined up along with TWD 12 million (~USD 386,000) in guarantees. That’s a solid TWD 2 million more than previous.

As usual the events to hunt down are the two featured events – Main Event (TWD 33,000 buy-in) and Championships Event (TWD 49,500 buy-in). Each earn the winner prestigious awards – the APT Champion Trophy, APT Championship Ring, and a handsome first place purse. At the inaugural APT Taiwan Main Event – Cliff Chow – shipped TWD 2,443,800 (~USD 79,400) and Championships Event winner – Chen Dong – pocketed TWD 2,955,000 (~USD 95,800).

The APT also rewards the top three players in points at the end of the series. All games (except the Special Event: Super High Rollers) earn players points towards the Player of the Series race. The player with the accumulated highest number of points at the conclusion wins the APT POS Trophy, APT POS Ring, exclusive luxury watch, and USD 800. For 2nd place and 3rd place, each receive APT POS Tropy and USD 100.

Before we give you a rundown of what to expect at APT Taiwan 2019, we’d like to remind everyone that all games utilize the Ante Big Blind format and the Shot Clock. You can read up on those at the bottom of the festival schedule. Buy-ins and payouts are in local currency – Taiwan New Dollar. For players needing accommodations, we have APT Player Rates available via our official travel partner – PokerTourBookings.
