Championships Event: John Costiniano bags over a million in Day 2; 40 players remain; all info inside

After eight hours of nonstop poker action, APT Philippines II 2019 CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT concluded with 40 players remaining. Stealing the chip lead during the last hands called was Filipino player John Niko Costiniano with 1,070,000. He was the only player to bag up in the seven-digit range. 

Costiniano was already one of the biggest stacks when chip leader Vietnamese pro Cao Ngoc Anh was moved to his table. Earlier in the day, Anh was the first player to reach a million in chips and stayed within range giver or take a little until his bout with Costiniano. The hand saw a full board 8 10 10 7 2 and over 500k built up in the middle. Costiniano claimed it for his 8 8 full house to rise to 1M. 

Among the survivors were decorated APT champions: Cao Ngoc Anh (746,000), Kannapong Thanarattrakul (691,000), Gyeong Byeong Lee (431,000), Soo Jo Kim (361,000), Iori Yogo (357,000), Graeme Siow (255,000), Lester Edoc (188,000), John Tech (151,000), and Alexis Lim (67,000).
