Welcome to Day 2 of  the MAIN EVENT! The past three starting days of the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019 featured event produced a stellar field of 402 entries. 204 players advanced to today’s round. You can view the chip counts via the link below.

Manish Lakhotia wins the NLH Single Day Event #1

Running alongside Main Event Day 1C were 79 runners battling for the NLH Single Day Event #1 title. With each buy-in at VND 8,800,000, the prize pool amounted to VND 613,040,000 (~USD 26,000) of which only 14 got a piece. Winning it was India’s Manish Lakhotia who held the chip lead at two tables and commanded for a majority of the final table. He pocketed VND 166,510,000 and his first-ever APT event trophy. 

Prior to Lakhotia’s victory, the bubble burst on Stephen Schumacher K Q at the hands of Michael Newby A Q on a board 2 Q 3 7 10.

From there, the final 14 players battled to reach the title. The Final 8 players were moved to the RFID feature table. You can relive the action via APT Twitch and APT YouTube.   

Heads up was between Lakhotia (seat 3) and Newby (seat 4). It took just one hand for Lakhotia to ship it. His K Q bested Newby’s K 2 on a final board of 5 Q 4 7 K
