Home12 days of nonstop poker at APT Philippines 2019 has come to an end and what an incredibly successful event it was. The festival ran from April 24 to May 5 at Resorts World Manila. Players flew in from all over to take part in the festivities. In the aftermath, 53 countries were represented, a total of 3,367 entries, 852 uniques, and a grand prize pool of P92,834,800 (~USD 1,792,700).
Additionally, several records were broken making for massive pots and first place payouts. The Main Event set a new APT Philippines record turnout of 503 entries for a pot of P24,395,500 (~USD 471,000). The Championships Event drew 316 entries for P22,989,000 (~USD 442,700). The Monster Stack also pumped in an enormous field of 211 entries for P5,116,700 (~USD 98,800). You can watch some of the series events final 8 uploaded in APT Twitch and APT YouTube.

APT Player of the Series
1st place: Iori Yogo
Stellar performance by Japanese pro Iori Yogo at the series. He cashed in two events and won two events. If you missed it, he nearly captured a third APT Championships Event title finishing just one spot shy. With 1,198.44 points accrued, Yogo seized the ultimate APT Player of the Series title along with the trophy, exclusive watch, custom APT POS ring, and USD 800. Below were his achievements:
- 2nd place: Championships Event
- 1st place: High Rollers #1
- 1st place: Pot Limit Omaha Hi
- 10th place: No Limit Hold’em #1
2nd place: Christopher Mateo
Filipino player Christopher Mateo ran very hot at the series. He got on the charts in four events that included a huge victory at the Main Event. This was Mateo’s first-ever major APT title besting a Philippines series record field of 503 entries. Mateo accrued 1,168.38 points. He was awarded the 2nd place trophy and USD 100. Below were his achievements:

3rd place: Lu Zhenghao
Singapore’s Lu Zhenghao accrued 887.40 for the third highest number of points at the series. He earned an APT POS trophy and USD 100.

Side Event winners
Event 15: No Limit Hold’em #2
128 runners turned up for the two-day No Limit Hold’em #2 event and with each entry at P22,000, it created a healthy P2,483,200 prize pool. The event streamed live via our media channels so head there to relive the final 8 race. Claiming the win was Filipino Emmanuel Segismundo. He pocketed a cool P601,800 after defeating Chen Chin Ho at heads up. Segismundo has numerous APT titles under his belt, this is his first for the year.
Event 17: High Rollers #2
A fantastic turnout at the two-day High Rollers #2 with 67 runners ponying up the P107,500 buy-in. This created a sweet prize pool amounting to P6,499,000. Out of the 12 players that earned their respective share, it was China’s He Hao who topped them all to pocket the P1,837,400 first place purse. This was Hao’s first-ever APT victory.
Event 18: Monster Stack
One of the most popular events of the APT is the Monster Stack and the numbers clearly reflected this. It produced a record-breaking 211 entries at P27,500 each for a towering pot worth P5,116,700 (~USD 98,800). The two day event wrapped up on closing day with Filipino pro / WSOP champion Mike Takayama shipping in P1,101,000 (~USD 21,000).
Event 19: Deep Stack Turbo #2
The Deep Stack Turbo #2 attracted 88 to the felt at P5,500 each. The prize pool shaped up to P426,800 with 15 players profiting. Earning the largest cut of P113,800 was Japan’s Yoshiro Noguchi defeating fellow countryman Tetsuya Saito at heads up.
Event 20: High Rollers Single Day #2 (Shot Clock)
The last High Rollers event ran on the final day. 47 jumped on the felt to generate a prize pool of P3,647,200 with buy-in at P86,000. Australia’s Bobby Zhang topped the tough competition defeating Louis Bilodeau at heads up. This was Zhang’s second-ever APT High Roller title. He shipped P1,144,000 first prize.
Event 21: Deep Stack Hyper Turbo
Robert Lee Kuang was another first-time APT champion having won the last event offered. The Deep Stack Hyper Turbo attracted 99 runners for a prize pool of P480,100. Out of the, 17 got paid. Kuang cut a deal with Tsai Feng Liu at heads up then went on to lift the trophy. Kuang pocketed P108,600 for his win.
