A roaring MAIN EVENT Day 2 at the inaugural APT Taiwan 2019 with another 74 entries jumping in on the last hour of registration at CTP Club (Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association). Combined with the Day 1 entries, it brought the total number of sign-ups to 523, and with each one contributing TWD 33,000, the advertised guarantee tripled up to settle at a monstrous TWD 15,219,30 (~US$493,700). This sets the bar as the largest prize pool ever seen in Taiwan. Only 53 players will earn a piece of that pot with the eventual winner pocketing a hefty TWD 3,146,200 (~US$102,000).
Day 2 wrapped up with 92 runners. Many notable players littered the roster such as APT major title-holders Lim Yohwan (247,000), Jinwoo Kim (230,500), Soo Jo Kim (222,000), Sparrow Cheung (208,500), and Hung Sheng Lin (51,500). However, all of these players took a back seat to Hong Kong’s Chung Kin Fai “Keanu” who finished on top with 385,000 bagged.
Closing the day in second command was Taiwan’s Philip Wang with 324,000. Wang was a dominant force at his table, backed by the largest stack all day.
