Last Main Event starting day at 1pm! Chen Hao ships the PLO, Guo Dong claims the High Rollers

Under the spotlight today is the last starting day of the APT Taiwan 2019 – MAIN EVENT. The past two starting days- Day 1A and Day 1B – saw a combined total of 203 entries flood partner/host venue CTP Club (Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association) with 99 through to the next round. If you aren’t one of them, then better make your way. The Main Event is pumped with a TWD 5 Million guarantee. Buy-in is TWD 33,000. Get there early and have your chips in play by the first deal to avail of the Bubble Protection incentive. 

Day 2 Qualifiers

Entering players begin with a 25,000 stack, opening blinds at 25-50. The APT uses the Ante Big Blind format. A total of 8 levels of 60 minutes each will be played. Registration closes at the start of Level 10 in Day 2. Currently leading is USA’s Manh Nguyen with 138,000. Trailing very close behind is China’s Chen Dong with 134,700. Both players bagged their chips at Day 1B. 

Also on the floor today is the NLH Single Day  #1  (Shot clock). Buyin is TWD 7,700. 

High Rollers Single Day claimed by Guo Dong

The High Rollers Single Day #1 event brought on 70 entries to the races with each one forking out TWD 54,000. This created a nice and healthy prize pool worth TWD 3,395,000. Among the attendees were SJ Kim, Park Yu Cheung “Sparrow, Alex Lindop, Edward Yam, Chen An Lin, Wenling Gao, Pete Chen, Natalie Teh, Yuri Ishida, and Daniel Tang, however all of these players missed the mark.

Claiming the victory was China’s Guo Dong . After a heated battle at heads up with Hong Kong’s Alan King Lun Lau that saw Lau bring down Guo’s towers to even par, the pair struck a deal to end the game abruptly. Guo had slightly more chips therefore was awarded the win. The final 8 streamed live on APT Twitch so you can all relive and review the action anytime.

Chen Hao wins the Pot Limit Omaha Hi

Yesterday, 62 signed up for the Pot Limit Omaha Hi Single Day event. It had a TWD 7,700 buyin for a prize pool of TWD 421,000. 11 players earned a cut with the largest piece claimed by China’s Chen Hao. Hao entered heads up against Tetsuya Tsuchikawa with a very large stack and despite the Japanese pro chipping up, Chen still was still stayed ahead to bring it all the way home. Chen shipped the title and the TWD 121,600 first prize.
