HomeYesterday, APT Vietnam 2018 welcomed in players to Pro Poker Club for Day 1A of the featured tournament, the VND 6 Billion Guaranteed MAIN EVENT. 95 runners came out with 38 of them advancing to the next round. Bagging up a substantial lead was Singapore’s Tzai Wei Phua with 341,400.

Another player raking it in was Hong Kong’s Kwok Luen Hei with 289,000.

And to round out the top three was one of China’s leading female pro players, Gao Wenling with 247,200.

Only one decorated APT Main Event champion made it through, Taiwan’s Hung Sheng Lin with 152,400. German pro Marvin Rettenmaier also bagged up though with a lighter 68,800. Rettenmaier cashed in both APT majors back in Manila last month.

The Japanese tend to field a large number of players at APT events however only Ken Okada survived the day with 162,100.

MAIN EVENT action continues with Day 1B kicking off today, October 7, 2018. This is the prime tournament of the Asian Poker Tour and it comes with a VND 6 Billion Guaranteed prize pool. Day 1A: Saturday, October 6 – 38 out of 95 entries advanced to Day 2
Day 1B: Sunday, October 7 @1pm
Day 1C: Monday, October 8 @1pm
*The three starting days play a total of 9 levels. Each level runs for 60 minutes. Registration closes in Day 2 at the start of Level 10.
Day 2: Tuesday, October 9 @1pm
Day 3: Wednesday, October 10 @1pm
Final 8: Thursday, October 11 @130pm
Main Event Bubble Protection continues to be in effect. For those new to this promo, it is a great insurance policy in the event you find yourself short stacked during the bubble round. If a protected player busts on the bubble, that player will receive their buy-in back in the form of APT tournament credits. To be eligible, all you need to do is follow these three simple steps:
- Pre-register
- Draw for your seat before the starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of Level 1
*Eliminated players wanting bubble protection on the next starting day will have to qualify again.

Side Events on Sunday, October 7, 2018
We have one side event running alongside Main Event Day 1B. At 2pm is the NLH Single Day Event 1, buy-in is VND 5,500,000. Starting stack is 10,000, opening blinds 25-50, blinds increase every 20 minutes.
