The quest for the APT Noumea 2017 Main Event Championship begins today with Day 1A at the Casinos de Noumea. The XPF 110,000 APT Noumea 2017 Main Event features a starting stack of 25,000 in chips with levels increasing every hour and each starting day is schedule to play 8 levels.
Another special feature of APT Main Events is Bubble Protection. Basically, any player that draws for their seat before the first hand of the Main Event starting day is dealt is protected. In case a protected player is the bubble of the Main Event, that player will receive APT tournament credits at the same value as the Main Event buy in. for more info, check out the APT Main Event Bubble Protection page
Last year, Daniel Gilles won the inaugural APT Noumea 2016 after he came out on top of the 143-entry field for a payday of XPF 3,402,300 along with all the accolades of an APT Main Event Champion. he has been spotted on the tables and looks to defend his title this year.
Yesterday, the second APT Noumea 2017 Side Event trophy was awarded to Valerie Podlejska after she took down the Main Event Warm Up Event. It was a long day until she finally went in to the heads up round with 890,000 in chips against Marc Daroux with a stack of 530,000. It wasn’t too long until she had all the chips in her corner.
In addition to the day’s Main Event Day 1A, on the tables will be the continuation of the Head Hunter Event along with the XPF 33,000 Pot Limit Omaha 1 at 5:00pm with the Last Chance Mega Satellite at 8:00 pm tonight.
