Yesterday, the Asian Poker Tour kicked off its sixth poker festival of the year, the APT Philippines 2017 held at the Winford Hotel & Casino. The nine-day festival is scheduled to run from July 19th-27th featuring a PHP110,000 buy-in Main Event and 17 signature APT side events.

The first of the side events, the PHP 1.5M Guaranteed Opening Event, wrapped up 13 rounds last night and will resume today for the final showdown at 1pm. Only 44 out of the total 136 entrants will have the chance to bag that PHP371,800 first place cash prize and of course claim that first trophy. Quite a number of notables are in contention for the title however it is Filipino player Del Ty who will enter today as the top gunner with the most ammo to play with. He is stacked with 108,200 in chips which is equivalent to 54 big blinds. Payouts will begin at PHP26,900 with 18th place as the bottom benchmark.
While that event awaits its champion, the next side event gets rolling with the Main Event Warm Up taking flight at 3pm. This Warm Up is one event that players have repeatedly sought after as it offers the same deep structure as the upcoming Main Event however with blinds increasing every half hour than the full sixty minutes. Blinds duration: increases every 30 minutes
Starting time: 3pm

When evening rolls around, the next side event lights up the floor with the Ante Up for Charity on deck. This is a staple event in every APT lineup because we at the APT always feel it is important to help out in the community. For this charity event, a third of the total buy-ins collected will be for the benefit of the Rotary Club of Makati North (RCMN) for its flagship project Feed a Child, Build a Nation feeding program. Buy-in is PHP7,500. Come and play poker for a cause.
