Side Events Today: Head Hunter, High Rollers, and Ante Up for Charity

Now that the APT Southeast Asia 2017 felt has been broken in, it’s time to heat up the floor with more poker action. Welcome to the second day of the festival! Today, we’ve got three side events up on the plate for all of you. Here’s a look at those events in detail..

Head Hunter
The Head Hunter tournament is one of the most popular events in the roster. Action is usually very aggressive with players challenging each other for every bounty reward of USD 50 per elimination. Buy-in is USD 220.

Starting stack: 10,000
Starting blinds: 25-50
Blinds duration: increases every 30 minutes
Starting time: 1pm

High Rollers
For players looking to get involved in a tournament with a tighter field and a large prize pool, the High Rollers event is definitely the one for you. This side event offers the largest buy-in of USD 2,200. It has a deep starting stack with slow increasing blinds.

Starting stack: 40,000
Starting blinds: 100-200
Blinds duration: increases every 40 minutes
Starting time: 2pm
*this event is scheduled to run for two-days

Ante Up for Charity
At every APT stop, we always make it a point to help out the community by offering a charity event. For our upcoming Ante Up for Charity tournament, a third of the prize pool will be donated to the New Samarkum Center – Goutte d’Eau Poipet (Damnok Toek). This charitable organization rescues children from the streets and from child traffickers in Thailand. The center currently provides education for 355 children.

Blinds duration: increases every 20 minutes
Starting time: 5pm

Main Event Mega Satellite
The highlight tournament of the festival, the APT Main Event, gets underway tomorrow, Monday July 3rd at 1pm. For today, players can try their luck on winning a seat via the Main Event Mega Satellite. Buy-in to the satellite is US 120 with one seat awarded for every ten players. Cards will be in the air at 6pm.

Last night, the APT Southeast Asia 2017 awarded the first-ever event trophy of the festival to Tetsuya Tsuchikawa for reigning victorious at the NLH Welcome Event. The top three players of that event now lead the APT Player of the Series race. Click here for the Welcome Event recap.

APT Southeast Asia 2017

The Asian Poker Tour in partnership with the Poker King Club is currently hosting the APT Southeast Asia 2017 at the luxurious Star Vegas Resort & Club in Poipet, Cambodia. This is the newest APT stop in our calendar year. The venue is located on the border of Cambodia and Thailand. The preferred currency is the Thai Baht however for the APT events, only US Dollar currency is accepted.

For those still making their way to the venue, the Star Vegas is a two-hour drive from the Cambodia Airport in Siem Reap and a three-hour drive from Bangkok, Thailand. There are also special room rates available exclusively for APT poker players. Special APT Player Rates info

The APT Southeast Asia 2017 takes place from July 1st – 7th with a US 1,100 buy-in APT Main Event and 13 APT signature side events. Full schedule details
