Welcome to the APT Championships Philippines 2017!
Good morning to all!
Today, the Asian Poker Tour kicks off its biggest event of the year the APT Championships Philippines 2017! This is the first time the APT has staged a festival of this magnitude in Manila with twelve days of nonstop poker taking place from April 26th-May 7th at Resorts World Manila.
The doors open with the highly popular APT-RWM Opening Event USD50K Guaranteed. This is the only event in the lineup with an advertised guarantee. Through the years, the opening event has consistently drawn a big turnout with players looking to bank in an early payout. There are two starting flights, one at 1pm and the other at 5pm. Buy-in is at an affordable USD 275. This is a scheduled two-day event.
Over the course of the festivities, players can expect a fully loaded schedule with 4 major events and 18 APT signature side events. Buy-ins range from USD 110 – USD 3,300 with one special event at a massive HKD 1M entry fee. Here is an overview of what’s in store at the APT Championships Philippines 2017:
Four Major Events
- Super High Rollers (Special Event)
- Sam Razavi Champion’s Cup (Invitational)
- APT Philippines 2017 Main Event
- APT Champions 2017
The Super High Rollers event takes off at 3pm today, Wednesday April 26th, with a HKD 1M entry fee. The last time the APT held such an event was at the Manila Millions in 2012 and 2013 with many well known poker personalities in attendance.
Tomorrow, Thursday April 27th, the Sam Razavi Champion’s Cup takes center stage with all past champions of APT Main Events and APT Side Events from 2012 onwards eligible to enter. With an entry fee of only USD 550, expect a massive field and tons of excitement as the top players burn up the felt for the ultimate champion’s title.
The APT Philippines 2017 Main Event is the next featured tournament, running its usual five days from April 29th-May 3rd. There are two entry flights, Day 2, Day 3, and the Final 8. Buy-in is USD 1,100. For players looking to get in at an affordable rate, there are three satellites offered leading up to the event.
When the main reaches its conclusion, another highlight tournament begins, the APT Champions 2017 running from May 3rd-7th. This event will also run a course of five days with the Final 8 held on the festival’s closing day. Entry fee is USD 2,200. Alike the main, this event offers satellites leading up to the event.
18 APT Side Events
In addition to the major events, there are 18 side events on the roster. While many are popular mainstays, there are a couple that players simply must not miss:
Event 6: APT Japan Corp 8 Max One Day event
Since the APT Championships Philippines falls during Japan’s Golden Week, Team Japan will be coming out in full force with 100 Japanese nationals confirmed to attend. Due to this, on Sunday April 30th, a new event has been added, the APT Japan Corp 8-Max One Day Event. Buy-in is USD 220.
Event 8: High Rollers
The largest side event buy-in goes to the High Rollers event with a USD 3,300 entry fee. This event takes place on Tuesday, May 2nd at 3pm. For those looking to join in but at a more affordable rate, you may be in luck with one satellite offered on the schedule.
