The Main Event began three days ago with two starting flights. There were a total of 143 entries for a prize pool of over XPF 14,000,000. The money round begins at 18 players which will be surpassed today with Day 3 regulation play scheduled to end once the Final 8 is reached.
Leading the troops into today’s battle at the felt is New Caledonia’s Daniel Gilles who bagged up an impressive stack of 254,500 which is about twice the current average stack. Soichiro Kojiya of Japan holds the second chip lead also with a healthy stack of 208,000, and in third is Eric Mottet, also from the local poker community, with 204,000.
There are three days left in the Asian Poker Tour Noumea 2016 with Side Events still on deck at the Casinos De Noumea. Today will host the continuation of the Pot Limit Omaha 2 Final Eight and the highly popular and enjoyable Monster Stack event.
