Asian Poker Tour returns to APT Poker Room for APT Poker Weekend Series Manila
Throughout the year, the APT offers festivals with varying buy-ins, some that cater to a higher caliber range of players and some to a mid-ranged level. This series will offer buy-ins of the latter ranging from PHP3,300-PHP55,000 featuring a PHP27,500 Main Event on the weekend and 15 side events.
Today’s headliner is the highly popular Welcome Event PHP1,000,000 Guaranteed. This tournament is always a great kick starter as the entry fee is a very affordable PHP6,600 and the prize pool tends to exceed the advertised guarantee. This is a two-day event with two qualifying heats held today, one at 1pm and the last one at 5pm. The rest of the midweek festivities will host several events such as the No Limit Hold’em, the Head Hunter P4,000 Bounty, and the High Rollers event.
While those events are a good way to try to get the bankroll up early, they are also great practice before the weekend hits with the Main Event holding its Day one flights on Friday August 12th and Saturday August 13th. Weekend warriors will be happy to know that the Main Event has been trimmed down to a four-day event with the final day taking place on Monday, August 15, 2016.
On Tuesday, August 16th, the series will feature an NLH PHP500,000 Guaranteed event, with a structure akin to the Welcome Event. Both entry flights will be held on the same day, 1pm and 5pm, with a low buy-in of PHP3,300. This is also scheduled as a two-day event.
Other events on the schedule are the usual suspects such as the Pot Limit Omaha, Open Face Chinese Pineapple, and a variety of Texas Hold’em events including the highly attended Monster Stack event.
