What’s in store at the APT Philippines II 2016

For the past few years, the live poker scene in the Philippines has been spreading like wildfire and at the helm offering their highly revered well-structured events is the Asian Poker Tour. Now that half of the year has zipped by, the second half begins with their next event, the much-anticipated APT Philippines II 2016 running from July 19th – 27th at their most popular location, Resorts World Manila in Newport City.

The APT Philippines II 2016 will certainly be an exciting nine-day poker festival with a wide variety of poker games catering to every type of player. Buy-in fees range from US$ 150 – US$ 3,300 including a US$2,200 Main Event. Back in April, the APT introduced a new Main Event structure, a much deeper format than its predecessor, and due to high demand, this will be brought back to the felt.  There are two Day 1 flights to the Main Event, both of them running on the weekend, Day 1a on Friday July 22nd and Day 1b on Saturday July 23rd.

Prior to the Main Event, the festivities will kick off on Tuesday, July 19th with one of their most popular events on the roster, the APT-RWM Opening Event US$ 50,000 Guaranteed. This event has seen its guaranteed prize pool broken several times and a few months ago at RWM, it surpassed well beyond $80,000, setting itself a new record. As tradition, both qualifying flights will be held on the first day, one at 1pm and the last one at 5pm.

The ensuing days will see a variety of side event options offering poker games such as Pot Limit Omaha, Open Face Chinese Pineapple, and of course a buffet of No Limit Hold ‘em events. There will be a total of 19 side events offered throughout the festival.

Here are the highlights:

  • Pot Limit Omaha – US$ 440
