HomeThe Asian Poker Tour Philippines 2016 gets underway at Resorts World Manila for Day 1a of the Main Event. Through the years, the APT has been driven by player’s suggestions in helping improve on the events offered, and as a result, this Main Event will be a special one.
For starters, the buy-in has been increased to $3,300. This rise is intended to beef up the pot for all the players who cash, and is designed for traveling pros who frequent the APT circuit. The structure has also been adjusted to be at par with the buy-in. Players start with a 50,000 stack, and as the levels increase, it becomes a deeper structure. This will be the first of two offered in the APT calendar year.
At the start of the year, the APT added new incentives to the Main Event such as the APT Championship Ring and the Main Event Bubble Protection. These are now mainstays at all the APT Main Events.
Since its inception, the Main Event Bubble Protection has proven to be a very successful. If the player who bubbles at the Main Event availed of the protection, then that player will receive a free entry to the next Main Event of the same buy-in. Here are three simple steps to qualify for Main Event Bubble Protection:
- Pre-register for the Main Event
- Draw for your seat before the 1pm starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round number 1
For re-entry players, if you have already met the qualifications for Main Event Bubble Protection, you will maintain that status only on a same day re-entry. For re-entry players wanting Main Event Bubble Protection on a next day re-entry, you will have to repeat the steps above.
As always, the Main Event begins promptly at 1pm. Late registration / re-entry will be open until just before the start of round 7. We will be posting live updates, just head to the Live Reporting section of the website.
For those still in need of a seat to the Main Event, there will be a Last Chance Main Event Mega Satellite at 6pm. Buy-in is $360. A total of ten Main Event seats have already been won via APT satellites.
Side Events Today
There is one side event on the roster today, the Open Face Chinese Pineapple Shootout (36 max). Buy-in for this event is $330. Starts at 2pm.
The final day of the Head Hunter event also resumes today at 1pm. The final 8 players will be playing on the RFID featured table so catch all the action on APT Twitch.tv.
