Today Determines Who Will Win the First-Ever APT Championship Ring!
The Final 8 of the Asian Poker Tour Kickoff 2016 Main Event will take place at 1:30pm today at the APT Poker Room in the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Casino Filipino. What’s up for grabs? A big cash prize of P1,660,000, the APT Main Event trophy, and the first-ever APT Championship Ring!
Returning to the felt with largest stack is Thong Botho (Thailand) with 610k chips. Coming in second is Germany’s Julius Malzanini with 457k chips.
The next three players who made it into the final table are all from Korea, Byeongcheol Kim with 400k chips, Jeon Seung Soo with 358k chips, and Dong Hyun Kim with 283k chips.
Japan’s Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, Guam’s Jim Bonanno, and Filipino player Terry Gonzaga round out the bottom three.
It should be an exciting final table with highly recognized players in the field including two players, Malzanini and Jeon, who are previous APT Main Event champions.

Side Events Results:
The Pot Limit Omaha Hi concluded today with Stuart Brodie overcoming a field of 57 entries to claim the event trophy and the first place purse of P143,000. A total of 9 places were paid.
The MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo had 73 entries with a total prize pool of P354,000. The first place cash prize of P98,100 and the event trophy went to Filipino player Luke Pangan after defeating Tetsuya Tsuchikawa at the heads up round.
The Monster Stack saw 52 entries bringing the prize pool to P1,261,000. This event will resume today wt 1 pm today with 12 players returning to the felt. First place is due to earn P349,300.
On Deck Today:
Starting the day’s festivities is Greed NLH with a buy-in of P13,200. Then at 3pm, a new event will grace the APT arena, the High Rollers event with a P108,000 entry fee. This is scheduled to run for two days. Capping the day is another newbie, the NLH Freezeout which is also slated for two days. Buy-in for this event is P22,000.
