Day 2 of the Asian Poker Tour Kickoff 2016 Main Event resumes at 1pm today with 67 players out of the 134 total entries returning to the APT felt where they will be playing down to the money of 18 players. The average chip stack entering the day is 40,076. The past two entry flights saw 39 players qualify for the Main Event Bubble Protection, and out of those, 24 of them have qualified into today’s round.
Coming in as the overall chip leader is a previous APT Main Event titleholder, Korean player Seung Soo Jeon with 134,125 chips. Jeon is the only player to cross the six-digit chip mark. Entering the day second-in-command is Filipino player John Sayo with 95,050 chips, and rounding out the top three is another APT Main Event titleholder, Germany’s Julius Malzanini with 85,500 chips.
Other notable pros who will also be joining the leaders today are Kwan Kit Kwok, Gerard Bringley, John Tech, Iori Yogo, Sim Jae Kyung, Kai Paulsen, SJ Kim, and APT POY champion 2012-2015 UK’s Samad Razavi to mention a few.
The APT Kickoff 2016 Main Event prize pool totaled P6,499,000 with the eventual winner due to earn P1,660,000. The winner will also take home the championship trophy and the first-ever APT Championship Ring.

Side Events:
The Ante Only Turbo event saw a total 55 entries. The total prize pool came to P266,700. In the wee hours of the night, it was Japan’s Iori Yogo who defeated Filipino player Lester Edoc at the heads up round to bag the first place purse of P73,900.
On deck today is the Pot Limit Omaha Hi at 2pm with a buy-in fee of P11,000, then at 6pm, a popular event will be up and running, the WeLoveSport.com Deep Stack Turbo with an entry fee of P5,500.
