22 Players Return for Day 3 of the Main Event; Lagatuz claims WLS Deep Stack Turbo trophy

Welcome back to day 3 of the Asian Poker Tour Finale Main Event at Waterfront Manila Pavilion Casino Filipino where 22 players will be hard-slugging their chips to reach the money at 18 players and further on to the final table of 8. Yesterday saw Filipino poker pro Andrew Gaw claim the chip leader’s seat with 410,500 chips bagged at the end of the night. Coming in second was Singapore’s Jeremy Giam Jain Hui with 339,500 chips. Rounding out the top three, was China’s Guofu Chen with 296,500 chips. The main event will resume at 1pm.

Yesterday was also filled with other poker festivities with two side events stirring up enjoyment throughout the room. The Pot Limit Omaha Hi began at 3pm with 66 players entering the event. The event broke down at 8 players and will resume today.

WLS Deep Stack Turbo Champion, Jeorge Lagatuz

One trophy was also awarded, this one went to Filipino Jeorge Lagatuz who overcame a field of 113 entries at the WeLoveSport Deep Stack Turbo event. This event generated a P548,000 prize pool. Lagatuz also earned the first place cash prize of P140,200.

Today will see two side events for everyone to enjoy, namely the Monster Stack Day 1 with a P27,500 buy-in. This event begins at 2pm. At 6pm, there will be an MSW Deep Stack Turbo with a buy-in of P5,500. Both of these events are very popular so make sure to sign up well before it begins to ensure an immediate seat at the table.
