Fight to the Finish: Final 8 Returns Today, Battles for APT Philippines 2015 Main Event Title

The eight-handed Final Table of the APT Philippines 2015 Main Event begins today, Wednesday (April 22nd) and the major storyline is the presence of three former APT champions who will be aiming for their second major APT title and who has the biggest stacks entering the final day of play in the prestigious tournament held at the Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Pasay City, Philippines.

John Tech (Philippines), Feng Zhao (Singapore) and Ha Duong (Vietnam) lead the remaining eight players with monster stacks of over a million chips each. The trio has gone all the way in previous APT main events as well winning the APT Asian Series Cebu 2015, APT Philippines 2014 and APT Asian Series Cambodia 2012 main events, respectively.

Can the mid and short-stacked players stop their hopes of a repeat? Or will one of them become the first-ever two-time APT main event champion?

Others still in the running are Yoichi Uesugi of Japan; Julius Malzanini of Germany; and Ian Brion of the Philippines. All three will have around half-a-million in chips and are in a good position to pull off the comeback in the final day. There are a couple of players in danger of getting the boot early in Flo Campomanes of the Philippines and Sahil Agarwal of India but a double-up or two can get them right back in contention for the title.
