It’s down to 27 players in the APT Philippines 2015 Main Event with Day 3 on tap today, Tuesday (April 21st) at the Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Pasay City, Philippines.
The tournament plays down to the eight-handed Final Table with familiar faces and former APT champions present among the survivors.
The chip leader is Vietnam’s Ha Duong who ran away with 755,000 in chips Monday. For comparison, the last 14 players in the field have a combined chips of 711,000—still less than the Vietnamese’s total haul after Day 2!
It’s a top-heavy chip rankings as well; the first to eighth-placer has a combined chips of over 3.7M—nearly three-fourths of the entire chips in play of 5.27M!
Ranking second and third in chip counts are John Tech (Philippines) with 630,000 and Feng Zhao (Singapore) with 552,000, respectively.
Curiously, the top three are decorated poker pros especially in the APT scene; Tech won the APT Asian Series Cebu 2015 Main Event while Zhao was the champion in the APT Philippines 2014 Main Event last year also here at RWM. Duong won the main event title in the APT Asian Series Cambodia 2012.
