From a total of 264 runners—111 for Flight A and 153 from Flight B—only 73 will be returning on Wednesday to battle for the title in the $50K GTD Opening Event of the APT Philippines 2015 at the Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Pasay City Philippines.
The guaranteed tournament with a buy-in of $275 re-starts play at 1:00 PM on Wednesday (April 15th).
With most of the players from the top of the 2015 APT Player of the Year (APT POY) race part of the field, it was a surprise to see new faces and fresh names on top of the heap after the pair of flights on Tuesday.
Leading the pack is Sebastian Benz (Germany) who hauled in 163,800 in chips to become the leader entering the final day. Completing the top 5 in chips are Jeremiah Cruz (United States) with 143,400; Don Mishra (Singapore) with 126,100; Thomas Lamb (England) with 119,500; and Haresh Kukreja (India) with 117,800.
Other recognizable pros left in the field are Ha Duong (Vietnam) with 100,700; Kevin Ang (Malaysia) with 98,000; Kai Paulsen (Norway) with 82,700; Ian Brion (Philippines) with 75,000; Brian McAllister (Australia) with 69,200; Ashby Rivera (Philippines) with 58,300; Jojo Tech (Philippines) with 46,100; and Jae Kyung Sim (Korea) with 45,200, among others.
Poker action at RWM continues on Wednesday with the NLH Multi Re-Buy + 1 Add-On ($110 buy-in) and High Rollers ($4,300) events set at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, respectively. APT main event title hopefuls can also start their road to poker glory with the super and mega satellites available plus that “One Hand” satellites.
