As the summer season has just begun in the Philippines, the Asian Poker Tour is set to blaze the felts of the country’s first integrated resorts and casino – Resorts World Manila with the Asian Poker Tour Philippines 2015 scheduled from April 14th to the 22nd.
The nine-day schedule kicks off with a $50,000 Guaranteed Opening Event. The $275 buy-in tournament features two flights starting at 1:00pm and 6:00pm respectively. Then followed in the evening by the Ante Up for Charity, proceeds from which will be donated to the Gawad Kalinga construction of a house for a Typhoon Haiyan devastated family. Along with these throughout the week are the APT’s staple tournaments – Satellites, NLH Rebuy Add On, High Rollers, Head Hunter, Ladies of Poker, OFC Pineapple, NLH and PLO events and Deep Stack Turbos.
While the $2,200 Asian Poker Tour Philippines Main Event will be the first time players will get to experience the increased starting stack of 25,000. Last year’s APT Philippines drew a total of 208 entries with Feng Zhao coming out on top.
As if that wasn’t enough, a couple of new side events are now part of the mix. First is the Monster Stack that aims to give a second chance to players falling from the Main Event. With a healthy buy-in of $770; starting stack of 30,000 in chips and a structure patterned after the Main Event, the Monster Stack is sure to be a poker player pleaser. Then closing out the festivities is the revised 6 Handed event. The $21,000 Guaranteed 6 Handed – 10 Man Stop will halt with the final 10 players. These players will then receive an equal share of the cash prize pool and a Main Event seat to the APT’s next stop – APT Vietnam!
