Cebu’s Charm: Raquel Floyd Wins Ladies Only Event, Kai Paulsen Leads Head Hunter

Two popular side events, the Head Hunter and Ladies of Poker were on tap on the third day of the APT Asian Poker Series Cebu 2015 at the All In Poker Sports Club in Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City, Philippines.

While the all-women event found its champion in Raquel Floyd of the Philippines. the bounty-flavored tournament had to wait for its winner with the new carryover format calling for another day for the final eight contenders.

For her efforts Floyd cashed in for PHP 47,900 in the tournament with a PHP 5,500 buy-in. The final table of the Head Hunter event  is set tomorrow, Friday at 1:00 PM. Kai Paulsen of Norway leads the pack as chip leader with 272,500 entering the last eight play.

The remaining eight players, as with the ten previous bust-outs before the final table, are already in the money and the final eight will now be aiming for the champion’s purse of PHP 321,600 from the total prize pool of PHP 1,258,900 created by a total of 109 entries who joined the event.

The nine-day poker festivities continues Friday (Jan 30th) with the APT Asian Poker Series Cebu 2015 Main Event set to begin play at 1:00 PM for Day 1A. Two other starting days are scheduled for the main event on Saturday (Jan 31st) and Sunday (Feb 1st) for Day 1B and Day 1C, respectively.

Also on tap on Friday is the newest craze in the tour, the Open Face Chinese (OFC) Pineapple side event (PHP 8,800 buy-in), which is starting to gain popularity. For those hoping to get a seat in the Main Event for a cheaper price, satellite tournaments at 3:00 PM (mega satellite for PHP 5,500) and all day for the One-Hand Satellites are also scheduled.
