The Asian Poker Tour (APT) guarantees more bang for your buck this 2015!
Jeff Mann, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Asian Poker Tour, the premier poker tour this side of the world, has confirmed the changes in the upcoming APT season, which kicks off with the APT Asian Poker Series Cebu set from January 27th to February 4th, 2015 in partnership with the All In Poker Sports Club at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Cebu City, Philippines.
What changes can the APT regulars and poker enthusiasts expect for the New Year? First, major stops are now scheduled for 9 days — which simply means more APT days for more APT events! Most exciting, is the overhaul that the Main Event is getting at all major stops: there will now be THREE starting days— or Day 1A, Day 1B and Day 1C!
Along with the added starting days for the Main Event, the APT will be adapting new mechanics that will certainly add fire to both, the Main Event and Side Events making them more competitive…
Among the changes to Main Events are; all APT Asian Poker Series Main Events will now have 1-hour levels, upped from the previous 45-minute levels in previous years. Meanwhile for the Asian Poker Tour main brand, Main Events will remain at 1-hour levels but starting stacks will be increased from 20,000 to 25,000!
Side Events under the APT Asian Poker Series brand will now adapt the 30-minute blind levels. Previous 7,000 starting stack tournaments will now get an increase to 10,000. Also, blind levels have been added in, which are the 250-500 50 ante and 2,500-5,000 500 ante. One more change that Side Events players can look forward to is the fact the Final 8 players will now be playing on a second day with a guarantee that the average chip stack will be at 30 big blinds!
APT Player of the Year (APT POY) race also gaining popularity, the APT has decided to increase the APT POY prize from the total $8,000 to $10,000 worth of tournament buy-ins! Sam Razavi will be gunning for his fourth consecutive APT POY title but with the jacked-up first place finish prize, all other contenders will now be even more motivated to unseat the three-time APT POY!
Finally, expect Asian Poker Tour to announce different stops around the globe in countries you could have not imagined for 2015!
