Tan Gay Peng of Singapore is the overall chip leader with 617,000 big ones at the end of Day 2 of the APT Asian Series Manila 2014 Main Event. Peng rose to the master’s seat during the closing hands when his K♣ 7♣ landed a flush on a board of 5♥ 10♣ 3♣ 8♣ Q♦. He won a monster pot of around 400K against Mike Takayama. While running second in chips is Raymi Sanchez with around 595,000.
Interestingly, Marc Rivera railed two players at once during the bubble stage. Both railbirds, Lester Pinto and Paul John Santos, will be splitting the 45th place cash prize because both players had the same amount of chips when they went all in. This is actually a very rare occurrence as players tend to have a chip difference (at the same table) upon busting out.
Day 2 ended with 44 players in the money, all of whom will be returning for Day 3, hoping to claim a seat into the Final Eight.
