HomeWhile Day 2 of the main event of the APT Asian Series Cebu 2014 was underway, two side event winners were honored on stage here at the All-In Poker Club in Cebu, Philippines.
Masahiko Sugisaka of Japan and Adam Monaghan of Australia received their first-ever APT trophies for winning the Deep Stack Turbo event and DafaPoker Pot Limit Omaha event, respectively on Sunday.

Monaghan cashed in three APT events in the past—all in the main event—but has never lifted an APT trophy until this recent PLO win when he beat a field of 58 runners.
Sugisaka meanwhile placed ITM in the 6-Handed event in 2012 and finally got to go all the way in the deep stack tourney which featured 124 entries.
For their championship efforts, the Australian took home PHP 155,700 while the Japanese won PHP 154,000.
111 runners started play in Day 2 of the main event and only 36 will advance to the next round. All who will qualify for Day 3 will get at least PHP 100,000 from the total prize pool of PHP 13,341,000. The champion will get a lion’s share of PHP 3,235,000.
Still alive are notable pros like Sam Razavi (United Kingdom), Mike Takayama (Philippines), Bryan Huang (Singapore), Czardy Rivera (Philippines), Do Hoang Anh (Vietnam) and Day 1 chip leader Sun Tan (Malaysia) among others.
43 players remain in contention as of press time.
Also happening on Monday are the Fulpot Poker No Limit Hold’em event with PHP 16,500 buy-in and the Pot Limit Omaha Turbo event with PHP 5,500 buy-in. Check back later for results and update of today’s tournaments.
