All Fired Up: Main Event Day 1A is Underway!

Judging from the numbers earlier this week, it appears that the APT Asian Series Manila 2013 Main Event will attract a similar huge attendance Saturday, October 12th at the Genting Club in Resorts World Manila.

As of press time, 104 players have already signed up for the Day 1A of the main event, which has a buy-in of PHP 50,000.

“Obviously, we’re very pleased so far with all the events. I think we’ve broken a couple of records in other events as well,” said APT Chief Executive Officer Jeff Mann minutes before Day 1A started.

“Around 50 for the High Rollers, an exceptional performance on the first day, our opening even which is usually very quiet. So, all is looking well for the rest of the week.”

Tournament director Lloyd Fontillas also guaranteed that over 300 players will play in the main event.

“Really? He’s betting all his money that we’ll have over 300 for the total entry?” said Mann when told of the assurance from his TD.

“But for sure, I am going to be very disappointed with the entries if it’s under 300,” he added half-jokingly.

Over 300 or not, it sure is going to be an action-packed afternoon for the Day 1A of the Main Event. Follow the poker fireworks at the tables in APT’s Live Reporting page.
