The delay in flights arrivals to Goa today was not going to stop India’s top players from participating in the INR 50,000 buy-in Main Event of APT Asian Series Goa. It was an eventful day with 64 entries for the kick-off of Day 1A at Casino Royale.
Varun Vimal stands at the top as the chip leader with 113,800 chips and is followed by Swedish player Martin Nilsson with 76,400 chips and Sonu Singh on 74,300. The 21 players who survived the day include names such as Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal (37,200) who doubled up in the last 15 minutes of the day, Kunal Chandra (35,100) and Amit Varma (24,500).
Unfortunately for other big names such as Sangeeth Mohan, Bobbe Suri, Abhishek Goindi and Ramandeep Gujral, the dream of adding this latest APT title to their name have to wait another day if, of course, they opt to re-enter on tomorrow’s Day 1B.
