Day 1B of the PHP 50,000 buy-in APT Asian Series Cebu Main Event at All In Poker Club, Waterfront Hotel and Casino saw a packed field of 135 players combine to bring the total number of entries to 251. This crushed last year’s field of 126 players and created a total prize pool of PHP 11,671,500 with first place set to receive PHP 3,623,000.
Korean Myung Soo Han had the most success at the tables today, finishing on a 104,900 stack as chip leader, only just in front of Czardy Rivera on 104,000. Other notable chip leaders from Day 1B were Mike Takayama (85,700), Bobby Cheong (79,400), Jojo Tech (78,500) and Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang (76,700).
A surprise entrant in the field of Day 1B was defending APT Asian Series Cebu champion Andreas Lindblom. Asian Poker Tour tournament staff had been trying to contact Lindblom leading up the event, but with no reply the belief was that he wouldn’t make it. However, his shock appearance was welcomed and he finished on 25,400 in chips to still be in contention but with a lot of work to do on Day 2.
Those who didn’t make it through the day included APT Asian Series Goa champion Sangeeth Mohan, Cindy Wang, Jay Lubas, Alan Escano, Claudia Yum, Jojo Allado, Lester Edoc, Jessie Leonarez, Charles Lam, Richard Marquez, Victor Chong and Kent Del Rosario.
For February 6th, the Main Event continues with Day 2 plus the DafaPoker Head Hunter and Deep Stack Turbo 2 events. Check out the complete Event Schedule.
